About Me ... Val has been painting for over thirty six years. She has studied Fine Art and Design in G.M.I.T. and has completed many workshops with various teachers over the years. Acrylics would be her main interest, but she has also worked in oils, pastels and mixed media. Her work leans towards realism yet loose and imaginative. She strives to keep it lively and energetic, spirited yet ethereal. She loves the excitement and challenge of the sea. Horses pose their own challenge and their beauty is a joy to try and capture in paint. Living on the outskirts of Galway City (Ireland) allows close access to its most beautiful locations. Photographic references are a great source of inspiration though she loves to put her own twist on it therefore always turning out works that are quite unique.
